Craig Ferguson

Person Centred Counsellor

Craig is a fully qualified and professionally registered therapist with the British

Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Craig offers a safe, confidential, non-

judgemental and holistic space to explore the reasons for whatever emotional

difficulties you may be experiencing. Care, trust and empathy with respect to your

situation are guaranteed - without exception - with a view to providing the secure

environment necessary to help you facilitate the changes you feel you need to

make.

Craig is - at heart - a Person-Centred Therapist, although his training also introduced him to

Existentialist, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis techniques and tools from cognitive-behavioural therapy. His primary focus is helping people with

Anxiety, Depression, Loss, Grief & Bereavement, Addictions and Relational Issues.

He also has lived experience as a parent of a child with Additional Support Needs;

as such, he has an understanding of the unique challenges - both day to day and

longer term - borne by the parents and carers of intellectually disabled children.

In terms of experience, Craig was a police officer for almost 3 decades, retiring at the

rank of Inspector; 12 of those years were in the role of Hostage & Crisis Negotiator.

Whilst there are some differences between negotiation and therapy, Craig believes there are many similarities; enough for him to know that his vocation in life is to help people who

are experiencing emotional difficulty and crisis.

In addition to his therapeutic qualifications, Craig holds an Undergraduate Honours Degree in Criminal Justice and a Postgraduate in Criminal Psychology and Criminology. Craig is also a Trustee on the Board of Directors for COSCA, Scotland’s  largest Counselling and

Psychotherapy governing body, with responsibility for the Criminal Justice arena.

Craig’s availability is 0900-1400, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. He can be contacted via his website fergusontherapy.co.uk - Anxiety Depression, Counselling, Therapy, using the email address below or the phone number below for calls/SMS/Whatsapp.
